Hill v Nikon, Inc.

March 2014

Hausfeld LLP has filed a nationwide class action in the Northern District of California on behalf of purchasers of the Nikon D600 camera. The Complaint alleges that Nikon instituted a deceptive marketing scheme to cover up a defect in the shutter mechanism of its "pro-level" D600 camera. This shutter defect ruins photographs with consistent and pervasive oil and dust spotting. In addition, the Complaint alleges that Nikon's failure to properly advertise the D600 and/or take responsibility for the defect and fully repair or replace the camera, such that it may be used for its most basic and warranted purpose, has resulted in damage to consumers across the country.
