Nathaniel C. Giddings
Nathaniel Giddings is an associate at Hausfeld LLP, where he focuses on antitrust and financial services law. Since joining the firm in 2011, Mr. Giddings has litigated myriad aspects of complex class actions on behalf of plaintiffs, including briefing class certification and oppositions to motions to dismiss, assisting in the taking and defending of depositions, and successfully arguing a motion to compel in federal court. In 2014, Super Lawyers recognized Mr. Giddings as a rising star in the Washington, D.C. antitrust bar.
Mr. Giddings' representative cases include the following:
- In re Libor-Based Financial Instruments Antitrust Litigation (S.D.N.Y.), which alleges a conspiracy to suppress the London Inter-Bank Offered Rate by member banks on the U.S.-dollar LIBOR panel.
- In re Foreign Exchange Benchmark Rates Antitrust Litigation (S.D.N.Y), which alleges a conspiracy to manipulate the WM/Reuters rates.
- In re Skelaxin (Metaxalone) Antitrust Litigation (E.D. Tenn.), which alleges the unlawful exclusion of generic competition for the pharmaceutical drug Skelaxin.
- James v. UMG Recordings, Inc. (N.D. Cal.), which alleges the underpayment of royalties owed to recording artists for digital downloads and ringtones.
Mr. Giddings is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School, where he served as the Senior Production Editor of the Journal of Energy and Environmental Law, and the James Madison College at Michigan State University. Prior to joining Hausfeld, Mr. Giddings held positions with the USDA : Office of the General Counsel's Conservation and Environment and Marketing Divisions and the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office in Detroit, Michigan.
