Hausfeld LLP Names Sathya S. Gosselin Partner

 

Washington, D.C. (January 21, 2014) - Hausfeld LLP has named Sathya S. Gosselin partner in the global claimants’ law firm.  The firm, headquartered in Washington, DC, has offices in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and London as well.  

As a member of Hausfeld LLP’s Antitrust/Competition practice group, Mr. Gosselin investigates and prosecutes civil antitrust cases on behalf of individual clients and class members.  Among other matters, Mr. Gosselin represents rail-freight shippers in In re Rail Freight Fuel Surcharge Antitrust Litig. (D.D.C.), in which shippers allege a multi-year conspiracy to fix the price of rail-freight services through collusion on fuel surcharges.  Mr. Gosselin also represents current and former men’s Division I basketball and football players in In re NCAA Student-Athlete Name and Likeness Licensing Litig. (N.D. Cal.), in which athletes seek damages and injunctive relief stemming from the NCAA’s alleged agreement with co-conspirators to fix at zero the price of athletes’ names, images, and likenesses in television broadcasts and videogames.  He is also a member of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment practice group and is active in the firm’s pro bono efforts, recently obtaining asylum for a South Asian political activist.  Mr. Gosselin is also active in the American Bar Association (ABA), serving as the Antitrust Law Representative to the ABA’s Special Committee on Section, Division, and Forum Coordination and Young Lawyer Representative to the Transportation & Energy Industries Committee of the Section of Antitrust Law. 

Prior to joining Hausfeld LLP, Mr. Gosselin was a deputy director of the ACLU of Texas’s Prison & Jail Accountability Project and a staff law clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

A graduate of Vassar College, Mr. Gosselin received his law degree from Cornell Law School, where he was Symposium Editor of the Cornell Law Review.  He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and California.
